It’s a pretty sweet and simple story. When our daughter Kaiah was about a year old, learning to speak, we would tell her we were going to water the tomatoes in the morning. She would yell with complete confidence, “‘MATO’S!” while she came outside to water with us.

Her middle name is Maxine and from then on, our tomatoes were “Max’s Matos”.
